Brembo brakes into ASBK

The Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship, presented by Motul and Pirelli, is pleased to announce the growing industry support for the premier championship with GAS Imports confirming a two-part sponsorship deal for the remainder of the 2016 season.

In an effort to support the development of young Australian talent the Melbourne based importer will sponsor the new-to-series ‘Brembo Superbike Challenge’ and become the naming rights sponsor for the Australian Production Championship.

From Morgan Park Raceway in Queensland, to be held this weekend (August 5-7), the Brembo Superbike Challenge will see the first overall Tier 2 manufacturer supported Superbike team awarded with a set of Brembo Brake pads and Pazzo Levers for the two remaining rounds, while the first overall non A-grade competitor will receive a set of Brembo Brake pads per round.

Along with supporting the Brembo Superbike Challenge, GAS Imports have also announced that Akrapovic will take up naming rights sponsorship of the Australian Production Championship, now rebranded the ‘Akrapovic Production Championship’.

Doug Sharp of GAS Imports shared his excitement with aligning his products with the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship for the remaining two rounds.

“Gas Imports have in the past had strong ties with the Australian Superbike Championship and it is with pleasure that we can be involved again in a small way with quality products such as Brembo, Akrapovic and Pazzo, all of which are used and known by racers worldwide.”

“If we can help make it a little bit easier for riders and give them some incentive to progress with their racing then our efforts at Gas Imports will be well worth it,” he concluded.

The winner of the first overall Brembo Superbike Challenge Tier 2 manufacturer supported Superbike team will be awarded at the Night of Champions dinner after the last round of the ASBK at Winton Raceway on Sunday the 2nd of October.
