Bridgestone added to Round 1 ASBK Homologated Tyre List

Motorcycling Australia (MA) would like to announce the addition of tyre manufacturer Bridgestone to the MA homologated tyre list in time for the first round of the Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) at Phillip Island.

Bridgestone, involved in motorsport since 1983, will join tyre manufacturers Pirelli and Dunlop on the homologated tyre list for the opening round of the ASBK at Phillip Island this year.

With the three manufacturers on board it gives competitors and teams three great options and allows this years’ Championship to provide the best exposure to participating Privateers.

“We’re very pleased to announce that Bridgestone are on board for another year” MA National Technical Officer Peter Doyle said today.

“Having a wide range of tyres for selection gives the competitors for the Championship a real boost, and a choice which is great to be able to provide.”

Bridgestone has a rich history in its involvement in motorsport, and has supported World Champions such as Australia’s own Casey Stoner.

The inclusion of Bridgestone joining Pirelli and Dunlop in ASBK is sure to provide plenty of excitement to this year’s series.

MA will release additional tyre manufacturer and homologation information as it becomes available.

Competitors are advised that the homologated tyre list will be updated for subsequent rounds after Round 1 of the ASBK.

Please note there has also been a correction made to the Pirelli Supersport homologated tyre list – Diablo Supercorsa SCX (U1148) is a 190/60ZR17, not 180/60 as provided in the initial release.
