Aussie Racing Cars Rev Up Eastern Creek Superbike Round

03-07-2009

The popular Aussie Racing Cars are set to provide plenty of dynamic four-wheel action at the next round of the Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championships at Sydney’s Eastern Creek in August.

“We are thrilled to have the Aussie Racing Cars competing at Eastern Creek alongside the Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championships,” said Australian Superbikes promoter Yarrive Konsky.

“This will be the first time that the Aussie Racing Cars have appeared on the Australian Superbike program, and it will certainly add a new dimension to the race weekend.”

The Aussie Racing Cars have four races scheduled across the weekend, and will complement a packed two-wheel schedule of Superbikes, Supersport, 125GP/250 GP Mono and Superstock classes.

“The small size of these cars enables thrilling four-wide braking, overtaking and slipstreaming duels that have become synonymous with the category,” said Aussie Racing Cars founder Phil Ward.

“The cars are all powered by a 1200 cc motorcycle engine and their 450 kilogram all-up weight provides an incredible power to weight ratio that allows these little machines to rocket to speeds well in excess of 200 kilometres per hour.”

A field of over 30 cars is expected to line up on the grid at Eastern Creek, which is also Round 4 of the Aussie Racing Cars championship.

Round Four of the Woodstock Bourbon Australian Superbike Championship will be held at Eastern Creek from August 7th -9th.
