Describe yourself in 10 wordsI believe I am hard working, determined and focused.
I will stop at nothing to chase my dream.
What is your worst habit?I can be a little messy when I get changed in and out of my gear, leave a trail of clothes in my wake. Dad’s a bit ocd, so he makes sure I get it clean pretty quickly.
What was your debut year in ASBK?2019 was my first year in the ASBK paddock as part of the Oceania Junior Cup
What bike/ team did you ride for in 2019?Yamaha R15 in the inaugural Oceania Junior Cup
What bike/team/class are you competing in in 2020?Sponsors?Yamaha R15 with Oceania Junior Cup and R3 Cup on Yamaha 300
What does your training regime look like as you prepare for ASBK 2020?Getting in as much track time as possible. I’m training at MotoTuesdays on my R15 and and the Ohvales. I also go to club and state race meets and practice days and take out the moto 3 and Yamaha R3. Off the track I hit the gym most days and swim a lot also.
Worst thing about training? What exercise do you hate doing?I’m not really a fan of running at the moment. I end up with a bit of a sore knee if I run for too long so I prefer to swim instead.
Are you involved in any other sports or activities?I swim competitively for school and I’m also learning to play the guitar. I really enjoy snowboarding a skiing, I try to get to the slopes when we have free weekends during winter.
Have you ridden overseas?I rode overseas in 2019 to tryout for the Red Bull Rookies Cup in Guadix, Spain and Asia Talent Cup in Sepang, Malaysia. I had an awesome time but was not successful for the 2020 seasons.
Are you planning to ride overseas in 2020?I’m planning to try out again for Red Bull Rookies and Asia Talent Cup with the aim of making it for the 2021 seasons.
Fun or interesting fact about you?I’ve always had the need for speed!! At 18 months old I had a little skateboard that I would carry to the top of our really steep driveway. I’d set myself up and aim to ride the board all the way down, which i did many times. Mum says if I fell off I wouldn’t be worried about getting hurt, I was more frustrated with having to collect the board from the bottom of the drive, but I’d pick myself up and give it another shot.
What’s your favourite thing about ASBK?I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone in the paddock, from the competitors to the mechanics, the media and all the officials, as well as the volunteers who come out every weekend to make what we love to do possible.
Favourite ASBK Track? My favourite tracks are Winton in Victoria and Morgan Park in Queensland
Who is going to be your strongest competition in 2020?In OJC my strongest competition is probably Tom Drane or Marianos Nikolis. The R3 Cup has some pretty big names.
What are your expectations for 2020?As I was runner up last year for OJC, my aim is to take out the title this year. In terms of the R3 Cup I’m not really sure what to expect yet, I always go into every race with winning in mind but we shall see how things go.
What is the one thing you can’t do without on race weekend? My family and the support they give me, we are a team and everyone works together to achieve the best outcome every time we head to a track.
What song/music genre do you listen to or routine you do to get into the ‘zone’ before a race? I like to listen to rap music to get me focused before a race, either Eminem or J Cole. I also sit on my bike for about 5-10 mins to zone in on what I am about to do, whether it be qualifying or racing.
Do you ride in any other discipline and how does this help with your racing?I first started out in dirt track and competed at a national level for 5 years. I don’t have time to do this during the year anymore as I either have competition or training for road racing most weekends.
Who is your sports idol? And Why?Over the past year I have really been encouraged by what Fabio Quartararo has achievied in MotoGP. He had to face some pretty tough challenges but kept fighting for what he wanted and didn’t give up. I admire his determination.
