Dunker adding 2027 ASBK Supersport campaign to Superbike duties

Cameron Dunker is on a mission in the 2027 Shannons Australian Superbike Championship presented by Pirelli (ASBK): to become the first Superbike and Supersport dual class champion since 2006.

In a unique arrangement, the gifted 18-year-old will simultaneously continue his existing SW-Motech Superbike commitments with Blue Marlin Pools East Racing – where he is third in the standings – alongside a Kawasaki Supersport Next Gen campaign with Addicted to Track on a Yamaha YZF-R6.

Dunker’s collaboration with Addicted to Track was announced today, signalling a return to the Supersport ranks for the first time since winning the 2023 championship on his 16th birthday – ironically at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park where he will officially return to the class from November 13-15 against the likes of Tom Toparis, Jake Farnsworth, Tom Edwards, Hayden Nelson and newcomer Riley Nauta.

Dunker’s dual offensive reprises memories of ASBK at the turn of the century, when Adam Fergusson (2004), Josh Brookes (2005) and Jamie Stauffer (2006) all scored brilliant championship doubles.

The only difference is that Dunker will be competing across both categories with two independently operated teams.

Dunker and Addicted to Track boss Mark McGregor

Addicted to Track principal Mark McGregor is delighted to be adding Dunker to the roster, who will be joined by Marcus Hamod in the team’s Supersport Next Gen offensive.

“We spoke with Cam about the opportunity to return to Supersport alongside his Superbike commitments, and we fully believe that he has what it takes to do well across both classes,” he said.

“We’re expecting him to do well on our R6 with the support of our team and sponsors, and look forward to helping him showcase his talent. We’re really pleased to have reached a direct agreement with Cam, and we’re ready for an exciting season together.”

As well as his ASBK commitments, Dunker also holds a handsome lead in the 2026 Yamaha Aussie Flat Track Nationals ahead of the season-ending double-header in Gunnedah on November 7-8.

Three Australian championships in one year? With his natural ability, competitive instincts and the thrill of the hunt, it could be a distinct possibility….
