Don Nicholas, Apparel Division Manager for Link International, Australian distributor of AGV Helmets was proud to announce the new awards and emphasised AGV’s commitment to safety on the racetrack. “Veloce is the Italian word for ‘fast” so it’s a very appropriate helmet for the fastest rider, “il più veloce” in Italian” he said.
“AGV’s passion for riders and rider safety has culminated in the AGV Extreme Standards philosophy, which has helped to revolutionise helmet technology for motorcyclists around the world. We are equally as passionate about protecting Australia’s best young riding talent in the YMI Supersport 300 class, which is why we are pleased to be providing AGV Helmets to the next generation of ASBK stars.”
The inaugural AGV Veloce Award and AGV Extreme Standards Award will be up for grabs at Round 2 of the ASBK, when the field heads to Wakefield Park in Goulburn on 22-24 May.
AGV Helmets’ Extreme Standards philosophy of helmet development continues to drive innovation in rider safety, ergonomics, and comfort. The brand has been worn in competition by some of history’s greatest motorcycle racers, including Valentino Rossi, Barry Sheene, Giacomo Agostini, and Troy Bayliss.
The Veloce S from AGV has high-performance features typically found in a racing helmet in a street-friendly package. The shell construction is a mix of carbon, aramid and fiberglass, and the new interior is designed to provide a stable, embracing, pressure-free fit.
