Levy Perfects Wakefield Park in YMF R3 Cup

Zac Levy (Puma RV’S, Yamaha YZF-R3) has put on a dominate display at Wakefield Park Raceway for Round 2 of the Yamaha Motor Finance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul Pirelli (ASBK), picking up all three wins to leave Wakefield as the championship points leader.

Levy qualified second fastest in qualifying behind Hunter Ford (South Sydney Commercial, Yamaha YZF-R3) but that was the only part of the weekend you related second and levy together.

Ford had a consistent weekend picking up two second place finishes and third place, but would be frustrated to not pick up a win after qualifying fastest.

Locky Taylor was in the mix all weekend in the YMF R3 Cup, and very easily could have been on the top step, but just couldn’t put the whole race together.

Race Two
Levy has made it two from two here in the YMF R3 Cup at ASBK, mastering the tight turns at Wakefield Park Raceway.

Levy got off to a strong start but was in a close battle with Ford and Taylor, the three traded position throughout the eight-lap race.

Levy rode almost the identical race as he did in race one on Saturday.

“I sat up in the slip stream as I didn’t want to hit the front as I knew I wouldn’t be able to get away from them, so I decided to sit in behind them like race one and then make the move, they haven’t wised up to it yet so hopefully they wont in the next race,” shared Levy.

Hunter had to settle for second position, whilst Taylor rounded out the podium in third position.

The points leader coming into this weekend, Tom Bramich (SJG Plumbing, Yamaha YZF-R3) didn’t start Sundays racing off as he would of liked, crashing out of the race on lap one.

Race Three
Levy has completed the trifecta, claiming race three to back up his wins in race one and two, and show that the close quarters on the Wakefield Track really agree with his riding style.

Levy and Taylor battled early in the race with the pair going back and fourth before Levy put his foot down and made the move on lap 5, and then put a 1.4 second gap on Taylor to break away.

Taylor just didn’t have the speed to go with Levy but rode well in race three to come away with second position.

The battle for third position went right down to the wire, with Ford making the pass on Bramich on the final lap to claim third position in race three. Bramich would have to settle for fourth position in testing and trying conditions.

Relph rounded out the top five with a solid performance that showed her pace is definitely there throughout the weekend.
