Lucas Quinn in the Oceania Junior Cup has taken out race two this morning at Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, in yet another spectacular race from the young guns in the first round of the mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship, presented by Motul.

On the first lap the top eight were covered by less than a second as they crossed the line.

Quinn, Marianos Nikolis (suffered a jump start penalty) Hayden Nelson, Lincoln Knight, Cameron Swain, Clay Clegg,Varis Fleming,  Cameron Dunker, Jai Russo, Tom Drane, Angus Grenfell and Henry Snell all diced for the lead.

But it was Quinn taking his second victory of the weekend in the perfect start to his championship chase.

“It was pretty exciting I got a win in that one,” said Quinn.

“Just really tough out there as I got bombed on the last lap of the straight when everyone slip streamed me.

“Somehow I came out on top and I’m pretty happy with that, .

“It’s a very good start to the year and I’m hoping I can win the whole season.”
