SBS and ASBK to continue long-term partnership in 2024

Fans of the mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul (ASBK) will again be in a prime viewing position in 2024, with SBS to continue its long-running partnership as the official broadcast partner of ASBK.ASBK supporters will again enjoy live free-to-air coverage on SBS and streaming platform SBS On Demand across all seven rounds of the 2024 ASBK Championship.SBS On Demand allows viewers to tune into ASBK live on mobile devices, smart TVs and browsers, with catch-up viewing available for fans who miss the live coverage.

Each standalone round of ASBK – starting with a second Night Race at Sydney Motorsport Park on March 22-23 – will be broadcast live for three hours, with all the excitement delivered by the ASBK TV team of Aussie motorcycle racing royalty Steve Martin and Chris Vermeulen as well as the highly experienced Phil Harlum.Vermeulen is a new addition to the ASBK TV team in 2024, returning to a championship where he was once a precocious teen before embarking on a successful international career.SBS Director of Sport, Ken Shipp: “We’re looking forward to partnering once again with ASBK to bring this series of seven exciting rounds of superbike action to Australian fans, live and free on SBS On Demand.“We are a long-standing and proud supporter of Australian motorsports, and this is a fantastic time for fans across the country to tune in and cheer on their favourite riders.A”

Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle: “Locking in SBS again in 2024 has been a high priority as its history with televising two-wheel motorsport is legendary, including being the first free-to-air television station in Australia to start broadcasting grand prix racing in the mid-1980s.“Four decades on, SBS is still at the forefront of motorcycle racing, and its ongoing commitment to ASBK is enormous and one of the key drivers in the championship’s massive growth over the last decade.“There’s so much intrigue across all the ASBK classes in 2024, and I’m delighted that SBS Sport will again join us for the ride.”Once again, SBS will collaborate with experienced production partner, AVE, to bring all the ASBK footage to life.SBS coverage of the 2024 ASBK Championship will begin this weekend from Phillip Island’s opening round, with coverage from the Australian Superbike and Michelin Supersport classes streaming live and free on SBS On Demand and on SBS Viceland on Sunday, February 25 from 1.00pm-3.00pm.
