Kawasaki returns as ASBK Supersport naming rights partner for 2026
Kawasaki Motors Australia reaffirms circuit racing commitment with continued support of Supersport category in Penrite Australian Superbike Championship.
Kawasaki Motors Australia has recommitted as Naming Rights Partner of the Supersport category in the Penrite Australian Superbike Championship (ASBK) for a second consecutive year.
Following a strong debut season in the role, Kawasaki’s ongoing support reinforces the brand’s investment in Australian circuit racing and the development pathway for emerging riders. The Kawasaki Supersport class remains a critical proving ground for competitors progressing to the premier SW-MOTECH Superbike category, with numerous current Superbike contenders having honed their skills in the intermediate class.
Kawasaki’s circuit racing pedigree spans more than six decades, with the iconic Ninja ZX-6R—first released in 1995—establishing the brand as a regular fixture in Australian motorcycle competition. The 2026 season will mark another chapter in that history, with the Kawasaki Supersport class set to deliver close racing and showcase the next wave of Australian talent.
Motorcycling Australia CEO Peter Doyle welcomed Kawasaki’s continued presence in the championship.
“Having Kawasaki back as Naming Rights Partner for the Supersport class is a strong endorsement of both the category and the direction of the ASBK championship,” said Doyle. “The Supersport class has undergone a genuine rejuvenation in recent years, producing competitive fields and acting as a genuine feeder for the premier class. Kawasaki’s presence adds prestige to the category and reinforces the pathway for riders coming through the ranks. We’re pleased to have them on board for another year.”
Kawasaki Motors Australia Lead Brand Marketing Specialist Gina Costello reinforced the brand’s commitment to the category.
“Kawasaki is proud to return as Naming Rights Partner of the ASBK Supersport class for 2026. Production-based racing sits at the heart of the Ninja’s DNA, and the Supersport category remains one of the most competitive and exciting proving grounds in Australian road racing. We look forward to another season of close racing and watching the next generation of talent develop aboard Ninja ZX-6R machinery.”
