Elliott ready to take on Australia’s best on the big stage at Phillip Island

Brayden Elliott will return to one of his favourite tracks in the land this weekend, the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, as he chases further success aboard the Knobby Underwear Suzuki GSX-R 1000 as part of the Australian Superbike support category to the 2016 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix with Elliott looking forward to competing on the big stage at one of the most picturesque race venues on the globe.

The opportunity to compete as part of a MotoGP round is a rare occurrence for Brayden and for it to be on such a high speed and enjoyable track, its something that pieced together, makes for a superb weekend for the Tumut rider. In addition to the on-track action, Brayden is looking forward to mixing it with the large crowds that flock to the Victorian island each year.

“Having the opportunity to race as a support category to the 2016 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix is something I am really excited about. Phillip Island is such an amazing circuit and one that I always enjoy racing at, I certainly hope to take advantage of competing in-front of the World Championship teams and also enjoy the huge crowd at the event,” Elliott said.

Following a podium at the final round of the Australian Superbike Championship at Winton, Brayden has been looking forward to returning to the seat in an effort to continue the strong momentum that he developed throughout the last round. With a busy schedule that includes four races across the weekend, Brayden has focussed heavily on his personal preparation for this weekend’s event.

“After finishing the final round of the 2016 Australian Superbike Championship on the podium, I have been counting down the days to get back on my Knobby Underwear Suzuki GSX-R 1000. The feeling of being back on the podium has continued to give me more hunger and determination to always deliver my best efforts competing amongst the best riders in the country. My preparations in the build up to this event have been great both mentally and physically and I certainly feel ready for the challenge with four races throughout the weekend,” Elliott added.

Elliott made the most of pre-event testing at Phillip Island which has helped he and his team to dial in a strong setup. With this, they hope it will help to deliver another front-running performance on a circuit that presents numerous challenges and technicalities.

“Having the opportunity to take part in three days of solid testing in late August has also left me feeling confident in our set up and tyre knowledge which will always be a big factor racing on this highly demanding circuit. Apart from the racing on track, I will also be taking part in various promotions throughout the event and look forward to seeing everyone track- side for a great weekend,” Elliott concluded.

Brayden will be on track for practice, qualifying and two races on Friday with one race each on Saturday and Sunday.

The 2016 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix takes place at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit from Friday 21st October – Sunday 23rd October.
