Superbike Masters returning to ASBK Championship in 2026
The Australian Superbike Championship’s enduring nod to circuit racing history – the immaculately prepared machines of the Superbike Masters – will return in 2026 over three action-packed rounds.
The Superbike Masters will kick off at Morgan Park from May 29-31*, before travelling to Queensland Raceway (June 26-28) and then concluding during a round of the new ASBK summer calendar in late 2026.
Superbike Masters will be open to Period 6 (1983-1990) and – for the first time – Period 7 (1991-1999) machines, opening doors to a new wave of production-based sports bikes manufactured in the 1990s.
Period 7 has been an extremely popular addition to the Australian Historic Road Race Championship over the last two years, with the Superbike Masters now following suit.
The 2026 Superbike Masters classes will be as follows:
- P6 Formula 750: 526-750cc four-cylinder and 750-1000cc twin-cylinder
- P6 Formula 1300: 788cc-1300c
- P7 600 Supersport
- P7 Superbike: Four-stroke production-based machines from 600-750cc four-cylinder, 600-900cc three-cylinder or 1000cc twin-cylinder
- P7 Production Superbike: Four-stroke machines greater than 700cc and no greater than 1000cc.
For full class technical specifications, refer to Motorcycling Australia’s General Competition Rules.
The 2026 Superbike Masters races will be livestreamed on the ASBK website and ASBK Facebook page, so fans who can’t make it trackside don’t have to miss a minute of the action.
For those who are trackside, they can get up close to the Superbike Masters machines thanks to free entry into the ASBK paddock.
Riders in the 2026 Superbike Masters will again be fighting for the Darren Lark Memorial Trophy, in memory of the late series coordinator Darren Lark.
The trophy is awarded to the outright champion in the series. Ducati 851 rider Beau Beaton completed a flawless, undefeated season in 2025 to wrest the trophy, and in 2024 Ryan Taylor (Suzuki GSX-R1100) came from the clouds at the final round to claim the spoils.

The Superbike Masters has attracted some of the biggest names in Australian road racing over recent years, including multiple 500 GP winner Garry McCoy and two-time world superbike champion Troy Corser – who were both amazed by the fierce level of competition, proving that advancing years (of both bikes and riders) has not blunted their competitive instincts!
With Period 7 now joining the Superbike Masters grid in 2026, a new wave of bikes and riders will make for even more box office entertainment.
ASBK paddock stalwarts Mark Bracks and Sam Phillips will share the Superbike Masters coordination role in 2026. They can be contacted on markbracks111@gmail.com and sammy.phillips@me.com respectively.
*Riders who want to compete in the May 29-31 Superbike Masters round at Morgan Park also have dispensation to compete in the Masters of Morgan Park from May 14-17.
