Harrison Voight zeroing in on maiden Penrite ASBK title
A masterful front-running performance by Harrison Voight at Morgan Park Raceway on Sunday, May 31 has placed the Queenslander in a strong position to win his first ever Penrite Australian Superbike Championship presented by Pirelli (ASBK).
After winning both SW-Motech Superbike races by comfortable margins on the McMartin Racing Ducati, he’s now 24pts (198 to 174) ahead of his teammate and defending champion Josh Waters heading into the final round at Queensland Raceway from June 26-28.
Waters is the only rider who can deny Voight crowning glory at Queensland Raceway – third-placed Cameron Dunker (Blue Marlin Pools East Racing Yamaha) is too far back to mount a late offensive – but it will take a herculean effort in the type of consummate form Voight is in.
“To win again means a lot, which is a big credit to everyone at McMartin Racing,” said Voight, who flew out of Australia just hours later to continue his European Moto2 commitments.
“Mike (Jones) kept me honest in race two. I knew he had the X (soft Pirelli tyre) on and he is so fast around here. I had to keep in front of him.”
Waters and a resurgent Mike Jones (Yamaha Racing Team) shared the second and third places at Morgan Park, while there was action aplenty in the Kawasaki Supersport/Supersport Next Gen, Race and Road Supersport 300, BLU CRU R3 Cup and Superbike Masters classes.
Round four of the Australian Superbike Championship was supported by the Southern Downs Regional Council.

SW-Motech Superbike
After wet conditions on Friday, Saturday became a pressure-cooker as teams scrambled to not only lock in a dry race setup but also find strong qualifying pace – extra vital at Morgan Park where passing opportunities are limited.
Voight ominously secured pole position, which was a portent of things to come. On Sunday, he took full advantage of his Saturday speed as he won both 16-lap SW-Motech Superbike races by over four seconds. He’s now won five of the nine races in a dominant 2026 campaign.
Waters (race one) and Jones (race two) tried valiantly to give the 20-year-old something to think about, but they were eventually worn down by his speed and efficiency.
Waters (2-3) and Jones (3-2) finished on the same points at Morgan Park, with the former cementing his hold on second position in the championship while Jones (129pts) moved up two spots to sixth behind Dunker (146pts), Cru Halliday (Stop and Seal Ducati, 135pts) and Glenn Allerton (Superbike Advocates Racing Ducati, 130pts).
Jack Favelle (Addicted to Track Yamaha, 4-5) and Dunker (5-4) were on the pace at Morgan Park – Dunker making passes galore, in particular – while Allerton and John Lytras (Caboolture Yamaha) shared the sixth places across two juicy mid-pack battles.
McMartin Racing also wrapped up the new Superbike teams’ championship in Queensland with a round to spare.
Kawasaki Supersport and Supersport Next Gen
It was a mixed Sunday for some of the top runners in the combined Kawasaki Supersport and Supersport Next Gen races.
Olly Simpson (DesmoSport Ducati) was a non-starter in race one after a spark plug lead malfunction on the warm-up lap, but his counter ‘argument’ was superb: an all-the-way victory in race two.
However, the damage is done as far as Simpson’s Next Gen championship aspirations are concerned, where consistent Kawasaki BCperformance duo Tom Edwards and Hayden Nelson – in the same vein as Voight and Waters in Superbike – will battle it out at Queensland Raceway for 2026 honours.
And the drama continued: Tom Toparis (Stop and Seal Ducati) crashed out of the race one lead, and Jake Farnsworth (Yamaha) retired with a mechanical problem as Valentino Knezovic (Addicted to Track Yamaha) took over the Supersport championship running.
After the full complement of riders finished race two, Edwards (1-2), Nelson (2-3) and Knezovic (3-6) had banked the most points in a dramatic day. It was Edwards’s first win at Morgan Park.
Edwards (188pts), Nelson (184pts) and Simpson (134pts) are the top three in Next Gen, and in Supersport it’s Knezovic (184pts) from Farnsworth (168pts) and Jordy Simpson (Yamaha, 136pts).
BCperformance also wrapped up the Next Gen teams’ title at Morgan Park.
- Simpson (#45), Edwards (#71) and Toparis (obsecured)
- Knezovic has one hand on the Supersport trophy
Race and Road Supersport 300/BLU CRU R3 Cup
Teen livewire Riley Nauta (Champions Ride Days Kawasaki) is the new leader in the Race and Road Supersport 300 championship thanks to peerless form – three wins from three – and a stroke of good fortune after main rival Tyler King (Kawasaki) crashed in race two.
Nauta successfully turned a 27pt deficit into a 4pt (198 to 194) lead over King, with Orlando Peovitis (Champions Ride Days Kawasaki, 174pts) and Tara Morrison (Kawasaki, 167pts) also well in the championship mix heading into the finale.
Nauta (1-1-1) was the only rider to feature on the podium in all three 10-lap races, while King (2-14-3), Matthew Ritter (Kawasaki, 3-DNF-4), Peovitis (6-2-2) and Morrison (5-3-9) were the others.
Ritter crashed at turn three in race two, with Phoenix O’Brien (Blue Marlin Pools East Racing Yamaha) also caught out as collateral damage. Ritter then started from the rear of the grid in race three, but carved his way back to fourth.
In the spectacular elbows-out BRU CLU R3 Cup battles, Jordy Simpson (race one) and Ritter (races two and three) nailed the wins, as Oscar Lewis (3-2-2) maintained his lead in the series. Lewis is on 116pts from Simpson (108pts), Ritter (101pts), Connor Lewis (95pts) and Seth Dellow (94pts).
- Nauta produced a Supersport 300 masterclass to move into the title lead
- R3 Cup race three podium: (L to R) McAdam, Ritter and Lewis
Superbike Masters
The first Superbike Masters round of the 2026 ASBK season saw Ashley Woolford (Suzuki GSX-R-R750) fend off Jack Passfield (Yamaha FZR10140) in the first two races before Passfield turned the tables in the finale.
Murray Clark (Suzuki GSX-R1100, 4-3-3), Corey Glock (Honda RC30, 3-4-5) and Matthew Robins (GSX-R75) also produced solid outings.
Passfield leads the Period 6 Formula 1300 class, while Glock, John Burns (Kawasaki ZX-9R) and Woolford are the pacesetters in P6 Formula 750, P7 Production Superbike and P7 Superbike respectively.
The final round of the 2026 ASBK Championship will be held at Queensland Raceway from June 26-28. Click on the graphic below to purchase tickets.
